The Challenge

Wondercise

Wondercise wanted to break into the US and UK market and establish themselves as a world-class fitness wearable. They tasked Make Honey to announce the roll out of its motion matching technology to other wearables and to position Wondercise as a virtual personal trainer, for home workouts like no other.

As part of a creative strategy, we identified and developed Wondercise’s positioning and messaging, unveiling a new tagline Move and Improve.

We created a press kit consisting of three press releases, a spec sheet, FAQ and a company background to introduce Wondercise to global media.

Having gained familiarity with the brand, Make Honey designed and distributed a Reviewer’s Guide for media reviews to highlight Wondercise’s pioneering features and advantages over the competition.

Next, we produced PR hooks, ideas and angles to capture journalist’s attention, built an extensive media list and conducted outreach to relevant business, technology and lifestyle media in order to secure opportunities.

To reach Wondercise’s target audience and generate leads, we launched a multi-channel social media strategy. Using both new and existing content, Make Honey curated an Instagram feed packed with videos and stills that showcased Wondercise’s new image as a world-first fitness wearable.

Make Honey updated CEO Eric Chuang’s LinkedIn profile and published content that aligned with Wondercise’s mission of revolutionising the fitness industry, positioning him as a thought leader.

The Results

Thanks to Make Honey’s media contacts, 19 journalists agreed to demo the fitness service. As a result, 22 pieces of coverage were published across technology, fitness, lifestyle and business media including Engadget, TechRadar, Men’s Fitness, Gadgets and Wearables, GadgetsBoy and Geekanoids, GQ Magazine, SlashGear, T3, Sunday Times and CNET. In total, Honey generated 260 stories including Bloomberg, Morningstar, Ask.com, Financial Post and Digital Journal.

We secured three CEO profile stories in Men’s Fitness, StartUps Magazine and Just Entrepreneurs, firmly establishing Wondercise as thought leaders in the FitTech industry.

Through creative copy and upbeat, on-trend videos, Wondercise gained the approval of audiences across the globe and built a reputation as a wearable unlike anything else offered on the market. In three months Honey increased Wondercise’s audience on Instagram by 1661 percent, reaching almost one million people per post and creating a loyal community of fitness enthusiasts.

“The Make Honey team is incredibly efficient and professional. Everything is managed well and provided on time.” Lilian C., International Media and PR Manager, Wondercise.
