October has been a busy month for social media, including updates and developments across many different platforms, there’s even been the launch of a new platform! Here’s The Honey monthly social round up of the latest social news for you:
Facebook has updated its search functionality significantly, with the aim being to encourage public conversation.
Founder Mark Zuckerberg has announced that Facebook is finally working on tackling the problem of those frustrating game invites and admitted that some of the current tools concerning game requests are outdated.
Jack Dorsey has been announced permanent CEO and gives away a third of his stock to Twitter employees. He stated that he would “rather have a smaller part of something big than a bigger part of something small,” Dorsey noted the move is meant to help Twitter continue to grow.
Twitter has also introduced a Buy Now CTA button in tweets, allowing you to sell directly on Twitter.
LinkedIn revamp the messaging platform to include, GIFs, stickers and emojis which is great! Although it does seem a little ‘Facebooky’.
Instagram launch Boomerang, the 1 second looping video app.
Snapchat continues to make us do weird and wonderful stuff by introducing Lenses.
Youtube launches YouTube Red and will offer everything YouTube is currently offering but without any form of advertising. The package also includes a full subscription to Google Play Music and YouTube Music.
Pinterest hits 7 Billion Pins with Places.
